Try Making Washi That Has Been Listed as World Heritage
Sekishu hanshi (Japanese writing paper used for calligraphy) has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage. The Sekishu Washi Center is a facility to give training on the skills and techniques of Sekishu washi (Japanese paper) in order to develop those who will take this up in future generations. You can try making washi here. There are also exhibits and sales of washi. This is also a place to disseminate information by telling the world – not just Japan – about the charms of Japanese washi while continuing to protect the techniques and sentiment of Sekishu hanshi and Sekishu washi. This is a facility where you can learn about washi while having fun making Sekishu washi.
