Kamochi Shrine

Popular for Economic Fortune and Better Luck Prayers with its Good Name for Business

This is a shrine that enshrines the god of national management, better luck and nation building. In the past, “iron” used to be read as “gold” in Japanese. Therefore, it is said that this area with many valleys where gold (iron) is mined came to be known as Kamochi (Gold Possession) Town. In recent years, Kamochi Shrine has become famous as a shrine for economic fortune and better luck prayers because it has a good name for business and because of a better luck legend here. A “wallet purification rite” is popular here. This is when a purification rite is performed on a wallet you no longer use before it is burned. You will then later be sent a kane-no-moto (small bag containing iron sand) as proof of this.
